How to play Pinball

Open Pinball, check the instructions and begin a round. Reach 1,500 points before three balls drain. Use the example below to understand a decision. Make your first input carefully and watch the result. Use the example below to understand a decision.

Original compact two-flipper table with three bumpers.

Build a steady rhythm

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Reach 1,500 points before three balls drain. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Start with a deliberate move.

Step by step

  1. Start to launch.
  2. Use the two flippers.
  3. Bumper collisions score.
  4. Launch remaining balls after a drain.

Controls

Hold Left/Right flipper or arrow keys. Start / pause and New round are available. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Make sure you are interacting with the game rather than the surrounding page.

A useful example

Activate the flipper when the ball reaches its active surface. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Check the stated objective.

Watch out for this

A drained ball cannot be rescued. Compare the situation with the worked example. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
