How to play Table Tennis

Use a short break to learn the rhythm of Table Tennis. Reach eleven points with a two-point lead. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Make your first input carefully and watch the result. Look at what changes after your first action.

rally/service model, win-by-two and alternating deuce service.

Try a deliberate move

After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again. Notice the feedback after each input.

Your goal

Reach eleven points with a two-point lead. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Start with a deliberate move.

Step by step

  1. Serve.
  2. Move the lower paddle under the ball.
  3. Hit after the bounce near your baseline.
  4. A missed return gives a point.

Controls

Pointer/paddle buttons; Hit / return; Space serves or hits. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Read the example below alongside these instructions.

A useful example

An early hit is rejected; wait while positioning the paddle. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Verify the rule before continuing.

Watch out for this

The ball-flight model is timing-based, not full tournament physics. Check the rule before repeating the action. Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal.
